playing with my best friend ~ cousin Jason! We combined Ensley Thanksgiving and Christmas with Meme at Brandon's parents house. It was wonderful to see everyone, the food was delicious, and the kids were sooo excited to celebrate Christmas a little early and open some presents! Thank you Meme and Marcus and Aunt Dale and Uncle Duce for the gifts! The kids played outside together and enjoyed the last bit of warm weather before winter started settling in, we ate a great home cooked meal, and family time was awesome!
Ironically enough, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes the day before Thanksgiving...I mean, really? Really. I failed my 1 hour glucose tolerance test. So I had to take the 3 hour test...and the nurse called me the day before Thanksgiving to tell me I had to start my diabetic diet....WHAT!! But it wasn't that bad....I ate a little of everything and stayed away from the desserts. I ended up going to diabetes classes the next week and learned how to watch my diet and test my sugars. I tested my sugars first thing in the morning, and two hours after each meal. I never needed insulin ~ I controlled it with diet. It was hard at times ~ especially around the holidays, but I think it helped me stay in better shape over all. Okay, okay, I did sneak some pecan pie....
