I hope everyone had a great Easter! What a beautiful day to celebrate Jesus and enjoy family and all our blessings! Katelyn had so much fun hunting for eggs ~ we spent Saturday at Nana and Papa Ensley's and hunted eggs with Jason, Kyle, and Rachel (cousins). She was so excited to hold the first two eggs we pointed out that she didn't get the point of searching for more. (There is a small lesson in that) The eggs were plastic and had quarters inside; so they sounded like little maracas when she was running around the yard ~ so cute! My mom and dad came over to visit too, and we had a great cookout for dinner...black sea bass, shrimp, hushpuppies mmmmm....and Katelyn loves fish! Sunday we went to church and listened to a great Easter message by Dr Green. Then it was off to Grammy and Pa's (my parents) house for more Easter egg hunting and good home cooking! This time Katelyn got the hang of putting the eggs in the basket to free up one hand to get more eggs! If you notice in one picture she's holding 3 eggs against her chest while grabbing another egg with her free hand! Atta girl! We had so much fun and it was great to see my Grandma too! Took several pictures of them reading together and a tickling session with giggles so sweet they made me cry.
Katelyn is starting to talk more the last few days and likes to mimic words you say ~ especially animal names. She was playing with me at mom and dad's and I was tickling her. I started counting... 1, and then she surprised us all by saying 2....3! All by herself for the first time! We all started clapping and of course she looked at us like we were crazy and not quite sure what the big deal was. I of course think she is a prodigy and am sure no other 14 month old counts! She also says "Come on" when she wants to go outside ~ she learned that from her cousin Jason! She calls the DVD player "kitty" b/c Jason says Kitty when he wants to watch the Tom and Jerry DVD. I'll say Movie? and she shakes her head looking at me pitifully like I have it all wrong and says "no,kitty"
She has 7 teeth now and loves to eat! Favorite foods right now are cheese, banana, strawberry, mom's broccoli cheese casserole and potatoes, squash. We went to Chikfila last week with Nana and she had nuggets for the first time ~ and of course loved them!
Brandon and I are doing great ~ both of us have been working really hard the last 6 weeks. We both have been implementing new projects, and amazingly we are still jiving well with our home routine as well. Thanks to all our family for helping us out so much! We are so grateful and wouldn't be able to do it without you! We are going to the beach at the end of this month with our good friends The DaMico's and it couldn't be a better time ~ we are dreaming of waves and sand....to be contd... We can't wait and are looking forward to playing in the sand with Katelyn! Have a great week and will post again soon! Love, Melissa
