Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend! I guess that means summer has officially started woo hoo! Katelyn finished her classes at little gym last week, and it's amazing to see all she's learned. She can walk on the balance beam (with help from me of course), knows how to crouch down and tuck her head to roll, and she learned to jump. The last day of class was a little overwhelming because it was the day when you bring all your family and friends to watch your baby "perform" everything they've learned....there were a gazillion people in there and I think she felt a little overwhelmed ~ even though it was just me with her. At the end of the class, each kiddo and parent came to the front and the teacher put a medal around their neck for finishing the session and everyone would clap. Most kids would either stare at everyone like "what the heck's going on here ya'll a bunch of weirdos" or they would clap and laugh and get really excited. Then you have our sweet Katelyn who looked out at the croud and shouted "Noooooo" and takes her medal off and throws it on the floor and runs away to the closet where the balls are and proceeds to shout "ball, ball, ball, ball, ..." while I profusely apologize to the teacher. What can ya do? I thought it was kinda funny ~she's not a follower that's for sure!

Happy Mother's Day! I hope all you wonderful mommies have had a great weekend! We had a jam packed weekend: great company from friends Saturday night with an awesome dinner prepared by my hubby, church Sunday, and the Monahan family came to visit Sunday and had a great Mother's Day dinner cooked, again, by my sweet hubby (woot!)~ thanks for a great weekend! Katelyn especially enjoyed the squash cheese casserole Mom and so did I! We missed seeing Nana Ensley this weekend as she's in Quitman, GA celebrating Mother's Day with Great Meme; we'll definitely have to celebrate when you get home Cherry!

We went to Mexico Beach last week with our wonderful friends Jodie and Mike D'Amico, and I wanted to post some pictures from our trip. The first couple of days, Katelyn would run from the water when it washed up to her feet. But the last couple of days, she played in the water and wanted us to take her out into the ocean! We picked up shells every morning, and we got a great collection that is now in Katelyn's room. Brandon and Mike got to go deep sea fishing one day, and we met up with our buddies Court and Devon Friday night to celebrate Devon's Bday. Katelyn's favorite thing to do was chasing seagulls on the shore. We would "sneak up" on them, count to three, then start chasing them ~ and she always waved bye bye to them when they would fly away. We had so much fun and can't wait to visit the beach again hopefully sooner than later! Thanks Mike and Jodie for inviting us ~ love you! I hope everyone has a great week ~ Melissa

We are loving the spring weather and spending lots of time outside! We went to visit our friends Danna and Ron Senowech and their baby girl Catie, who is just 3 months older than Katelyn. They were shy of one another at first, but they got over that pretty quickly and played til it was bedtime. Then we had a great dinner and a great visit with our friends!

Katelyn brushes her teeth now. I get a turn first, then she gets her turn. It took us 1 week to work out this deal, but it works nicely now. She brushes my teeth sometimes too and also tries to pull my tongue out of my mouth! She is talking more and more. She says "No, Mama" when she points to something she wants but I pick up the wrong thing ~ and then says "Yeah" when I get the right one. She gives High Fives now, and learned to say "Cool" from her cousin Jason when she sees something new she likes, so funny! Charlie is learning that Katelyn may be more fun than he thought! They play outside everyday with the balls, and Katelyn finds him sticks to chew ~ sometimes she wants to try to chew them too though....she loves digging for rocks and carrying them around the yard. She gets her hands full and will put them on the porch, then go back to find more. At one point, Brandon wanted to study Geology in college, so we joke that's where she gets her rock fascination!

I took Katelyn to get another haircut b/c she keeps pulling out the bows, and we came home and Brandon was so upset. It wasn't the greatest haircut I agree, but he said, "What did you do? You cut off all her beautiful long hair!" Oops, now she really looks like Brandon ~ no more haircuts for quite awhile!
